Pricing and billing

CoAI Sandbox has no plan and no monthly fee. You pay for the time your sandboxes run, by the vCPUs and the memory of their template, from the credit balance of your CoAI Host account.

Prices

Resource Price (USD, excluding taxes)
vCPU $0.01453 per vCPU hour
Memory $0.007265 per GiB hour
Billing unit each millisecond of a running sandbox, at least 1 s per sandbox
Template vCPU Memory 1 hour 1 second
base 2 512 MiB $0.032692 $0.000009
code-interpreter-v1 2 2 GiB $0.04359 $0.000012

Examples with base: a sandbox that runs 30 seconds costs $0.000272; 1,000 sandboxes of 10 seconds each cost $0.09; one that runs a full hour costs $0.032692; one that runs 300 ms is charged one second, $0.000009.

A sandbox is charged from the moment it is running until it ends (killed, timed out, or stopped). The cost is computed on the total running time of the sandbox and rounded down to a millionth of a dollar; a sandbox that ran for less than a second is charged one second, and one that never started running is not charged.

How you pay

Settlement threshold $10 of usage not invoiced yet
Smallest invoice before the daily billing run and at the start of a month $1
Settlement invoice due 3 days after it is issued (a saved card is charged then)
Credit kept back the unpaid invoices of your other services and their renewals invoiced within the next 48 hours
Grace before running sandboxes stop (balance or cap used up) 60 seconds
Low balance notice below $2
Welcome credit $10, valid 30 days, once per customer and per card, for eligible accounts
Least reserved for a new sandbox $0.02 (or its cost for the next 5 minutes, if more)
  1. Usage builds up as your sandboxes run. Your welcome credit pays first; the rest is your usage that has not been invoiced yet.
  2. A settlement invoice (one line, "CoAI Sandbox usage to ") is issued in the CoAI Host client area when that usage reaches the threshold above, before WHMCS's daily billing run when another of your renewals is about to be invoiced, at the start of each month, and when CoAI Sandbox ends for your account. Smaller amounts and fractions of a cent are carried over.
  3. Your account credit pays it when it is issued. What the credit does not cover is due 3 days later, when a saved card is charged; if you add funds before then, the new credit is applied to it for you.

Add funds in the client area under Billing > Add Funds: each deposit is between $10 and $300, and the maximum balance is $1,000. The same balance pays the renewals of your other CoAI Host services (VPS, CoAI Agent), and they can use it before your sandbox usage is invoiced: keep enough credit, or a card, for both.

What you can spend

Creating a sandbox reserves its cost for the next few minutes. CoAI Sandbox refuses a new sandbox with 402 insufficient_balance when your balance, less the credit kept back above, plus your welcome credit, does not cover your unpaid usage and that reservation. When the balance runs out while sandboxes are running, they are stopped after the grace period above. Spending caps that you set in the console, and the daily limit of a new A1 account, work the same way with 429 spend_cap_reached (tiers and limits page).

The console shows your balance as CoAI Sandbox sees it: the CoAI Host credit, the part kept back for the unpaid invoices and upcoming renewals of your other services, the welcome credit and when it expires, the usage not invoiced yet, and unpaid settlement invoices.
